The signature clifftop lookout in Deep Creek Conservation Park - dramatic views over the Southern Ocean cliffs and across to Kangaroo Island, a short walk from the Tapanappa campground.

The Deep Creek view

Tapanappa Lookout sits at the top of the dramatic limestone cliffs on the southern boundary of Deep Creek Conservation Park, with a sweeping view across the Southern Ocean and over to the eastern end of Kangaroo Island. It is the signature lookout in the park and one of the best clifftop views on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

How to get to it

A short, sealed walking path from the Tapanappa campground area leads out to the lookout deck on the cliff edge. The walk itself is flat and suitable for prams. The lookout has interpretive signs about the geology and the marine life of Backstairs Passage.

Best time

Mornings for the light, winters for whale watching, autumn and spring for the wildflowers along the path.
