A clifftop lookout
The Carrickalinga Lookout sits on a high point of Forktree Road above the Carrickalinga township, with a wide west-facing view over the bay and out across Gulf St Vincent. It is one of the better roadside lookouts on the western Fleurieu coast - elevated enough to see the full sweep of the Carrickalinga and Normanville beaches below.
When to come
Late afternoon for the best light and the sunset over the gulf. The lookout pairs naturally with a stop at Forktree Brewing further along the same road, or with a Carrickalinga Beach swim before driving up.
