HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout

A clifftop lookout on the Australian War Memorial 'Places of Pride' register, honouring HMAS Hobart I, II and III - with 2025 interpretive signage.

A naval memorial above the bay

The HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout sits on a clifftop above Yankalilla on Willis Drive, just off the Main South Road. The site was added to the Australian War Memorial 'Places of Pride' register and honours all three Australian naval vessels named HMAS Hobart - the WWII cruiser, the Vietnam-era destroyer, and the modern Air Warfare Destroyer.

What's there

A cairn, the official Places of Pride plaque, and (added in 2025) a full set of interpretive signs telling the history of each vessel. The lookout itself faces directly across Yankalilla Bay - one of the better quiet view stops on this stretch of coast.
