Zonte's Footstep was founded in 2003 by a friendship group led by winemaker Brad Rey and viticulturist Lee Evans. The winery has a playful streak - wine names include the Chocolate Factory Shiraz, the Z-Force blend, and Baron von Nemesis - and its cellar door on McLaren Flat's Main Road has a casual, family-friendly feel.

The Zonte's Footstep Cellar Door and Kitchen serves regional grazing plates, woodfired pizzas and coffee alongside wine tasting flights. The grassed garden and sandpit make it a popular stop for families touring the Vale.
