A long-running family fish-your-own trout and yabby farm in the hills above Mount Compass - one of the more unusual family attractions on the Fleurieu.

Catch your own

Tooperang Trout Farm has been running on Cleland Gully Road for decades as a fish-your-own attraction. Visitors hire rods at the gate, fish for trout and yabbies in the stocked dams, and pay by what they catch. No fishing licence required.

Why families love it

It is one of the rare places where small kids are almost guaranteed to catch something on their first cast, which makes it a reliable kid-friendly half day. Staff will gut and bag the trout for you to take home, and the property has a small picnic area where you can grill the catch on the spot.

What else

A pet area with friendly farm animals, picnic shelters, BBQs and toilets. Open weekends, school holidays and most public holidays.
