A fifth-generation Johnston family estate making McLaren Vale Shiraz since 1892, from some of the region's oldest vines.

A founding McLaren Vale family

Pirramimma has been owned and run by the Johnston family for five generations since Alexander Charles Johnston planted the first vines in 1892. The estate's vineyards include some of the oldest in McLaren Vale - including blocks of dry-grown Shiraz dating from the 1890s and 1920s.

At the cellar door

The cellar door pours the full Pirramimma range across reds, whites and fortifieds, with a focus on the iconic Shiraz, Petit Verdot and the long-aged tawny ports. The Johnstons run the tasting bar themselves on most days.
