Ortus Wines is a mother-and-daughter operation that took the unusual step of making art an equal partner of the cellar door - the warehouse-style tasting space on Willunga's Main Road doubles as a contemporary art gallery, with rotating exhibitions curated in partnership with Adelaide's Praxis Artspace.
Wine and the visit
The wines are estate-grown and small-batch, with a focus on Mediterranean-leaning varieties and natural-leaning winemaking. Tastings flow naturally through the gallery space, so the visit feels as much about the art as the wine.
