Mollydooker Wines

Big, bold shiraz on Coppermine Road

One of McLaren Vale's best-known names internationally - big-bodied, richly fruited reds by the Marquis family, tasted by appointment at the Coppermine Road winery.

A McLaren Vale name known worldwide

Mollydooker Wines was founded in 2005 by Sarah and Sparky Marquis and rapidly built one of the strongest international reputations of any McLaren Vale producer. The wines - particularly the Velvet Glove Shiraz and the Blue-Eyed Boy - have been routinely scored in the 95+ points range by American critics, and the label's distinctive cartoon-style artwork is unmistakable on the shelf.

The style

Mollydooker is unapologetically in the big, ripe, richly fruited end of the McLaren Vale spectrum. Expect deep colour, powerful black and red fruit, plush tannins and substantial alcohol - wines that are best tried in small pours alongside a chat about how and why they are made.

The Mollydooker Shake

Every Mollydooker wine arrives with a distinctive step in the tasting ritual: the 'Mollydooker Shake', where you upend the bottle and shake out some of the sparge gas. It's a piece of theatre worth experiencing at the cellar door.
