Alex Sherrah spent years working for bigger McLaren Vale names before going out on his own, and the Sherrah cellar door at 148 McMurtrie Road reflects that grounded approach. It is an intimate, no-fuss tasting room attached to the working winery, shared with like-minded producer Lino Ramble.
What to expect
The wines play with McLaren Vale classics - shiraz, grenache - alongside fiano, chenin blanc and other Mediterranean and alternative varieties. Bookings are encouraged and the cellar door opens Friday to Monday.
