Moana Beach

A long, dog-friendly surf beach between Port Noarlunga and Maslin, one of only a few beaches in South Australia where you can legally drive on the sand.

Drive-on sand

Moana is one of the small handful of South Australian beaches where 4WDs and registered 2WDs can legally drive on the sand (a day pass applies). The beach access ramp is at the southern end of Nashwauk Crescent, and from there the sand runs north toward Port Noarlunga and south toward Maslin.

Surf beach

Moana is a south-west facing surf beach that picks up any swell coming into Gulf St Vincent. It's a regular spot for beginner and intermediate surfers, with more consistent waves than most metropolitan beaches. The Moana SLSC patrols in season.

Dog-friendly

Sections of Moana are dog-friendly off-leash, which draws regulars from all over the southern suburbs. It's one of the Peninsula's best beaches for walking a dog at sunset.
