Kleinigs Hill Lookout
A clifftop lookout above Victor Harbor offering one of the best elevated views over Encounter Bay, Granite Island and the western coastline.
A view above the bay
Kleinigs Hill Lookout sits on a high point of the Encounter Bay headlands above Victor Harbor, with a sweeping view that takes in Granite Island, Wright Island, the causeway and the full curve of Encounter Bay west to The Bluff (Rosetta Head). On a clear day you can see all the way along the southern coast.
How to get there
A short drive from central Victor Harbor up the residential streets toward the Encounter Bay headlands brings you to the carpark. The lookout itself is at the end of a short walking track from the carpark - flat and accessible.
When to come
Late afternoon for the best light and for whale-spotting in winter (May to October). The view across the bay is one of the few places where you can see the full pattern of Encounter Bay from a single elevated point.
