A 170 m timber boardwalk over the Goolwa dunes to a lookout with panoramas of Sir Richard Peninsula, the Hindmarsh Island Bridge and the Coorong.

A boardwalk over the dunes

The Goolwa Beach Dune Boardwalk is a short, sealed timber boardwalk that climbs from the Goolwa Beach carpark over the back of the foredunes to a lookout at the highest point. The boardwalk protects the dune vegetation and gives wheelchair-friendly access to the view at the top.

What's the view

From the lookout you can see east to the Murray Mouth and the Sir Richard Peninsula, north-east to the Hindmarsh Island Bridge, west to Middleton, and south to the open Southern Ocean. On a clear day you can see all the way down the Coorong.

Why it's worth doing

It is the easiest way to get the big Goolwa Beach view without walking on the sand. A 5-minute round trip from the carpark.
