Signal Point Gallery

Contemporary gallery on the Goolwa Wharf

A contemporary and touring exhibition gallery housed in a landmark building on the Goolwa Wharf, looking out over the Murray River.

Art on the wharf

Signal Point Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in a distinctive landmark building on the Goolwa Wharf Precinct, overlooking the Murray River. The gallery is run by the Alexandrina Council and shows a rotating program of contemporary exhibitions from local Fleurieu and Ngarrindjeri artists alongside nationally touring shows.

About the building

The Signal Point building originally housed a multimedia interpretive centre telling the story of the Murray River, and its architecture - with long, low lines and generous glazing facing the river - remains one of Goolwa's most recognisable contemporary buildings.

What's on

The gallery typically hosts 6-8 exhibitions a year, including the Ngarrindjeri-led Ringbalin cultural program and exhibitions by graduates from the South Australian School of Art. Entry is free and the space is fully accessible.
