Gnocchi Masterclass by Fleurieu Food and Wine (Lot 50)

Fleurieu Food and Wine, winner of the 2025 South Australian Tourism Award for Excellence in Food Tourism, runs Mastering Gnocchi from Scratch, a three hour hands-on gnocchi making class at Lot 50 in Yankalilla on the Fleurieu Peninsula, just over an hour south of Adelaide.

The class teaches how to make light, pillowy potato gnocchi from scratch. Guests learn why the potatoes are baked and riced hot, how to bring the dough together with 00 flour and a bench scraper rather than kneading, and how to roll, cut and ridge each piece. They also learn to read the dough by touch, cook gnocchi without overcooking it and match it with the right sauce.

Every ticket includes all ingredients and equipment, the use of an apron, a sauce demonstration, a shared tasting of the finished gnocchi and a recipe booklet to take home. No experience is needed. The class suits complete beginners, keen home cooks, couples and groups of friends.

Lot 50 is a relaxed venue on the main street of Yankalilla, minutes from Normanville and a short drive from Victor Harbor and McLaren Vale. Classes run on selected Sundays and places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
